Okay, so I've been somewhat busy  (hence the lack of posts), so, sorry for that

Some of you may know I've got a little girl now who's 7 months old.  My husband and I love her to bits and she's our whole world.  Somehow, I've managed to get Silence Rising to my publisher (yay), but now comes the hard question which Viking like silhouettes do you like better?

Come on now, everyone has an opinion.  Let me know here or on facebook;

They're here!  Elflings is finally out and available now!  It's a big day.  I may have been off the net for a while, but I have not been idle.  A new edit of Quest of the Demon and a new e-book cover.  Get your copy now for free, yes free, for the month of December!

Elflings too makes its debut online.  Check it out on Smashwords;

For the good Friday Appeal (which can be donated to year round), I am donating $5per book sold.  This special offer is just in time for Christmas and is a good idea if you can't find anything to give someone for Christmas!  Also, pre order your copy of Elflings now at this special discounted price!  Offer expires 30th of November.

Update for Silence Rising.  I have been going through the draft of this story and finally I finished the next round.  From 50k to 60k this draft took me and still I haven't managed to really get into the last few chapters.

In Elflings - you will get to meet Ulav and Olay.  Two brothers who love to brawl, drink and have fun.  Silence Rising takes their lives on a different turn... from rescuing a wizard to surviving the relentless onslaught of the Vas.  Tallen and Elonan make their return as all their fates entertwine.  All of this and yet we're only half way to the end of the epic 7 novel fantasy series that I am yet to finish!

Silence Rising is due out at the end of 2013 leaving only 3 more novels to go...  Well, I'm excited anyway!  I have no idea what I'll do after that.

Well, editing is going along smoothly.  I have made it to about half way!  Edit has added another 5k to the manuscript... where do all the words come from I wonder?  Up to a 90k work of fantasy though I do find that as the writing progressess (since the first novel), it's not quite as YA as it should be.

I wonder, is it me changing my tastes, or is society getting less blaze about things?

Enough of the deep thought, Friday the 13th was a great night to get out and about to attend a themed trivia night.  No sexy vampire costume for me... Zombie all the way!  Needless to say my friend and I received a few good looks on our drive into the city!  Good night in all!

“Australia has been invaded by legendary monstrosities! With the Kraken's rise off the shores of Western Australia, an age of monsters is ushered in. When wits and heroics fail, a secret cabal of guardians will take drastic, devastating measures to protect everything they know and love. In the aftermath, when everything has turned to ash, hope will find a way.”

The Apocrypha Sequence is a series of dark fantasy collections with interwoven themes and interconnected stories from Shane Jiraiya Cummings.  I saw this on smashwords and thought I’d give it a go due to the Australian theme even though it’s not my usual type of read.

Jiraiya (which means Young Thunder according to his authors bio), writes some interesting and unique stories here.  So if you’re looking for something short, interesting and different with a post-apocalyptic theme; this is recommended for you.

Of the short stories that were part of this amalgamation, I liked those relating to the phoenix the most.  With this part of the compellation, you are initially confronted with a determined character chasing the phoenix across the charred ruins of Western Australia and from there, Jiraiya cleverly concocts an intriguing story that returns to the past to slowly enlighten the reader about the murder and magic filled passed before concluding the story in an unexpected way.

Dark fantasy specialist.  Recommended Australian short story read available on Smashwords https://www.smashwords.com/books/view/38797  along with other dark fantasy stories.
